Hello, we have a new song out on Friday 16 January (this week) – available on all the streamies and digital download places. We didn’t have time to make a video this time around so instead we filmed ourselves playing it live in our practice room and used that as the video instead. It’s available next week, but you can see it NOW on the link below. We also recorded another brand new song live at the same time called ’These Red Lines Won’t Bring Your Wife Back’ – we’ll put that out towards the end of the month.
We’ve had our YouTube channel censored so you need to sign in and let them know you are old enough to hear filthy words to watch it. Orwells vision and all that.
Red Bleeds Into Blue explores how the current Labour Party’s attempt to shift rightwards — in a transparent effort to ape Reform — is backfiring in the worst possible way.
We no longer have a clear political choice between a party that exists for the many and one intent on grinding the poor and vulnerable down to nothing. Instead, we’re left choosing between Bigot and Diet Bigot (now available in bitter gammon flavour). Same taste — just a slightly different amount of shit.
Unsurprisingly, it isn’t working. Many on the left see Labour’s attempts to curry favour with Reform and Tory voters (though they probably won’t like curry — too foreign) as a complete slap in the face. A huge betrayal of the values the party once stood for under Corbyn. By racing towards the centre, Labour have abandoned the very people who believed in them.
Starmer has fractured the left vote and handed Reform a way in — a move that risks the Trumpification and eventual destruction of this country. With the Greens now appearing as the only remotely viable alternative, we’re staring down the barrel of some bleak times.
Musically, the song reflects this divide. It’s built from two distinct, equally filthy halves: a slower, feedback-drenched opening section followed by a high-speed, punk-influenced, shout-along finale.
